ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

One should be eligible with the below-mentioned age limitation and educational qualification.

Age limit

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars), Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims) and Destitute Widows of all Categories. No Maximum Age Limit

Educational qualification

  • Technical Assistant (Air Conditioning): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with refrigeration and air conditioning as an elective subject
  • Technical Assistant (Gas Plant): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Selection procedure

Selection will be made in two stages

  1. Written examination
  2. Oral test

The final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained in both written and oral test.

Exam pattern

Candidates who are interested in attending for TNPSC Technical Assistant exam have to know about the TNPSC Technical Assistant 2018 exam pattern clearly to crack the exam. For the aspiring applicants here we are providing  a brief description of the exam pattern

The written examination consists of two papers. PaperI will cover 200 questions related to Mechanical Engineering for 300 marks and conducted for 3 hours. Paper II covers 75 questions from general studies in Diploma standard, 25 questions from aptitude and mental ability test. And the total of 200 marks which will be conducted for 2 hours and the final interview will be conducted for 70 marks.

Total marks for the exam: 570 marks

Minimum qualifying marks for SC, MBC, ST, BC, BCM, SC(A) candidates: 171 marks

Minimum qualifying marks for others: 228 marks
